1. About these terms

These terms apply together with our Privacy policy, Cookies page, Community guidelines and the other pages linked from them. If you use AshQuiz for an organisation such as a school, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

2. Who may use AshQuiz

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age at which you can make a binding agreement where you live, you may use AshQuiz only with the permission of a parent or guardian. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password and two-factor codes secret, and tell us at once if you think someone else has access. One person should not run many accounts to gain an unfair advantage on leaderboards, limits or attempts.

4. Your content

You own the tests, questions, reviews, comments, messages and files you create. You give AshQuiz a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, display, adapt for technical reasons and distribute them only as needed to run, show and improve the service, for as long as they are on AshQuiz. You promise that you have the rights to what you post and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights. If you publish a test, other people may take it and see its questions according to the settings you chose.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

• harass, threaten or discriminate against others, or post hateful, sexual-exploitative, violent or illegal content
• cheat, share answer keys, use bots or several accounts to change results or leaderboards, or help others do so
• upload malware, scrape the service at scale, probe or overload it, or get around limits and security
• post other people's private information or impersonate someone
• spam, advertise or mislead people about a test

We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these rules or the Community guidelines.

6. If you create tests

You are responsible for your tests: their accuracy, fairness and legality, and for having the right to use any material in them. If you switch on camera, screen or other supervision, you must tell participants clearly, have a lawful reason, collect only what you need and use participant results, answers and pictures only to run and assess your test. Do not copy participant data out of AshQuiz for other purposes, share it with others without a lawful reason, or use it to discriminate or to shame people. Integrity signals are hints, not proof; check them before you act.

7. If you take tests

Answer honestly and follow the rules the test owner sets. A test owner may close or reset a test and may decide that a result is not valid. Scores are calculated by the rules of each test.

8. Scores and certificates

Scores and certificates show the result of a test taken on AshQuiz. They are not accredited qualifications and AshQuiz does not guarantee that anyone else will accept them. A certificate can be checked by anyone with its link.

9. AI features

AI can draft questions, suggest grades and explain answers. It can be wrong. Creators must review AI-drafted questions before publishing and teachers must review suggested grades. See the AI features page: /info/ai.

10. AshQuiz's rights

AshQuiz, its name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the service. You may not copy, sell, reverse engineer or build a competing service from it, except where the law allows.

11. Reports and copyright

You can report a test or a person from the page where you see it. We review reports and may remove content. If you think content infringes your copyright, follow the Copyright page: /info/copyright.

12. Suspension and ending

You can close your account at any time in Settings, then Security; your personal data is handled as the Privacy policy says and your tests are taken offline. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect others or the service. We will tell you why when we can.

13. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep AshQuiz available, but we do not promise that it will always work, be error-free or keep your content forever. We may change or stop features. Keep your own copy of anything important; you can export your data.

14. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, AshQuiz is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, or for content, tests or conduct of other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the AshQuiz operator is established, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rights in the country where you live. We hope to solve any problem with you first: write to the contact details on our Contact page.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you keep using AshQuiz after that, you accept the new terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
