Cookies and browser storage
AshQuiz uses only what it needs to work. We do not use advertising, tracking or third-party analytics cookies.

1. What this page covers
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Websites can also use browser storage (local storage and session storage) and a service worker for similar purposes. We call all of them "cookies" here.
2. Cookies we set
- Sign-in cookies (httpOnly, secure on the live site): they keep you signed in and let us refresh your session. Page scripts cannot read them. They last up to about a month, or until you sign out.
- Language cookie (ashquiz-lang): remembers the language you choose.
3. Browser storage we use
- Theme (ashquiz-theme): light or dark mode.
- Unsent work: a draft of a test you are building and answers saved while you take a test so a lost connection does not lose them.
- Short-lived session storage for the page you are on.
- Offline cache: lets parts of the site work without a connection.
4. What we do not do
We do not use advertising cookies, we do not follow you around other websites, and we do not use third-party analytics services that profile you.
5. Third parties
If you choose Google, Apple or Telegram sign-in, or open content hosted by Cloudinary, those services may set their own cookies under their own policies.
6. Your choices
You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. If you block the sign-in cookies, you will not be able to stay signed in. Signing out removes the sign-in cookies.
